Possible Ao3 Shiritori Pilot
A few of you guys said you'd be interested in experimenting with how it might look to run Shiritori over on Archive of Our Own. I'm opening this space for you guys to talk about if that's a thing you really want to do, since if it is, Ansa and I would need to know not to assign you to a regular shiritori team.
So if you are interested in working on that, please comment here so you guys can meet each other and discuss whether you're ready to do that this round or not. even if only 3-4 of you were interested, you could probably try.
If you are ready, I completely support an Ao3 experiment, but you'll need to pick somebody to mod from amongst yourselves as I am absolutely not up for another side project.

RE: Preliminary ideas
the question is if the ao3 project needs to have a masterlist? after all, the series on ao3 would be the masterlist for the ao3 shiritori. if the whole comm is moving towards leaving LJ completely, then it wouldn't be necessary, right? or do you think people would still stay on LJ, splitting into an LJ and ao3 group and thus making it 2 separate projects?
RE: Preliminary ideas
At this point, most everyone is planning on staying on lj and it tentatively seems like dw will just continue to be a fallback back up/archive. That's why the ao3 is a pilot test, especially for this first round. At least at this point though, I think it would be good to keep them as integrated as possible, rather than start ao3 off completely separate, though if the ao3 version picked up more steam as rounds progress then having it be a "sister" endeavour would make more sense. In light of this, my suggestions about some kind of masterlist or posts are ways of keeping the "parent" lj comm equally updated with the ao3 team without being excessive (and again, if later that ao3 "took off" this would potentially be phased out).
Rather than a masterlist or single post, it might just be easiest to have headers posted of the ao3 shiritori fics, in line with the regular lj team posts. I don't think there would be so much that it would be bothersome.
For skipping, I was thinking further and if everyone on the ao3 team has a twitter account, I could set it up so that people could dm the shiritori twitter (or maybe even email it? there are a few options) and the twitter would automatically tweet a "skip" to the next person (or email or whichever option). This would be using ifttt if you're familiar with that, so it's fairly flexible.
