[TEAM FIVE] untitled
Meeting Seokjin in the eye probably isn't the best thing to do at the moment, but with at least three different cameras focused on them and Kyungsoo's gaze, determined and discerning, fixed on them and nothing, no one else, Yoongi doesn't know how else he can communicate 'oh really, now?' without actually saying the thing. In hindsight, maybe he should've just said that, should've just snorted out his words since they'll still be editing out parts they deem unfit for broadcast, but then hindsight is 20-20. Spontaneity has never been his best trait. He's always been better off stringing words together in his head before getting 'em out there, ready to be consumed by the world. He's always dealt better with the lack of space between him and Seokjin instead of a gaping lack of the lack, their knees a good three inches away from each other. He's always needed a bit more time than the others. And, he now muses as he picks up a couple of slices of makchang with his chopsticks, when he was much younger he'd been better at distracting himself from reading too much into Seokjin's actions, gestures, the littlest of things, but then familiarity begins to hit you differently once you've already known each other for twenty, thirty years. He's already come to a point when he can tell that the slightest scrunch of the nose means something instead of just Seokjin's allergies acting up. They've come to a point when they already know, just by the shy twist of each other's mouth, that they've caught each other wondering — and that they're aware Kyungsoo has caught the same. |
