I didn’t realize so much time had gone past! This is just a little random snippet, first words from Of heaven and hell.



“Even better,” Nyanko-sensei purrs, reply muffled around a mouthful of dango. “I can smell the sweet scent of all those names that belong to me.”

Natsume doesn't even bother to react. Nyanko-sensei talking about the book of friends, complaining about the slow reduction in the number of names, is like the obaa-san at the market who comments on the weather.

“Yup,” he says, leaning back against the wall, “it smells like rain.”
