[Team one] post wedding shenanigans
NCISLA had a big wedding episode on Sunday and I still have all the feels. Team fluff.
"That's exactly how you make me feel. Gunpowder and sunshine," Deeks declares with a goofy grin, a result of both the alcohol and newly-wedded bliss.
"I know," Kensi says with a laugh as she grabs his arm and pulls him closer. "You've said it at least 20 times in the hour and a half we've been married."
"Maybe you should go easy on the alcohol for a bit," Sam chimes in as a joke.
As if they'd ever consider slowing down this celebration. The wedding reception was still well underway and it showed no signs of stopping. Unless, of course, more members of the Russian mafia decide to try to crash it again. Or Eric gets carried away on the dance floor and breaks something expensive.
Both options were equally viable.
"Weddings are always so fun," Nell says, taking a break from the dance floor to join the group. "But this is probably the most eventful one I've ever been to."
"Sure beats my cousin's wedding where they had a huge watergun fight afterwards," Sam says, drawing several confused looks.
But before anyone else can speak, Hetty calmly says in her typical thoughtful tone, "this reminds me of a wedding I attended in Estonia once where we had to thwart a kidnapping and defuse a bomb in the church before the happy couple could exchange their vows. Luckily we had a few goats, a pair of hedge clippers, and a cashmere sweater, so the crisis was averted."
Callen chuckles. "You didn't drive through any walls that time?" he teases.
Hetty just smirks and leaves to refill her scotch.
"You ever watched McGuyver?" Deeks begins rambling to no one in particular. "I am 100 percent positive they based that show on Hetty. And they changed the name so no one would find out."
"It's going to be blissfully quiet in the office on Monday," Callen says with a laugh.
"You'll miss us," Deeks replies.
"We'll miss Kensi," Sam teases.
"That's it," Deeks says shaking his head. "We're not bringing you any souvenirs."
The motion apparently gives Deeks a better view across the room, and something catches his attention. "Ma!" he suddenly calls out. "What are you doing with the chocolate fountain??"
He disappears to check on his mother and Kensi follows, rolling her eyes.
"Well, I'm going to check on Eric and make sure he hasn't, you know, challenged a six year old to a dance off or something," Nell says and melts back into the crowd.
Only Sam and Callen are left on the edge of the crowd.
"What a day, huh?" Callen says.
None of them woke up this morning expecting any of the craziness that had happened. But then again, they probably should have.
Sam smiles. "Never a dull moment around here."
