“Sweet stuff is, um, tempting, but I think we’d rather just go for some fresh fruit salad,” Joonmyun says to the waiter, but maintaining eye contact with Lu Han the whole time.

“Speak for yourself, healthnut,” Lu Han grumbles, staring right back and twisting his large black napkin in his hands.

“Okay, well,” the waiter trails off, his hesitancy clear in his voice. He snaps shut the dessert menu, hiding the picture of the key lime cheesecake special between the dark velvet covers.

“Could we have one cheesecake and one fruit salad? And three forks, please?” Minseok frames his request with his most charming smile. He stops short of batting his eyelashes at the waiter (Zitao—according to his name tag), but Zitao flushes a soft pink anyway and nods vigorously.

“Right away, sir!”

“Thank you,” Lu Han simpers, reaching under the white damask tablecloth to squeeze Minseok’s thigh.

“You spoil your boyfriend far too much.” Joonmyun shakes his head, but his smile at his two friends across the table from him is amused.

Lu Han winks at Joonmyun. “Only as much as I deserve.”
