something short and random!
”A… bunny?” Junmyeon asks and lifts the small carrying basket, peering at the small, fluffy thing that's inside.
”Happy birthday, hyung!” Sehun wishes and pushes in past him. ”The rest of the gift is still in the car, but we can unload everything later.”
”The rest?” He's starting to feel like a confused parrot.
”Yes,” Sehun says. ”The cage and bedding and bunny food and stuff. I got the whole package for you!”
”But… why a bunny?” Junmyeon follows Sehun to the living room, still holding the basket, still very much confused and a bit scared as well.
Sehun shrugs. ”You always said you wanted a pet. I know you meant like a dog but I thought you should start with something… a little easier. Less demanding.”
”I don't know how to raise a bunny!” Junmyeon puts the basket down on the sofa table and yes, he's definitely scared. Sometimes he feels like he can't even look after himself, let alone another living thing. No matter how small.
”Don’t worry, hyung, I've watched many videos about that. I'll link you some. Also, I'll help you. I'll be the godfather.”
Sehun sits on the sofa and pats the place next to himself. When Junmyeon's sat, he then carefully opens the basket door and with no difficulty at all, takes the fluff ball out of the basket.
”She’d been at the pet store for a while so she's used to people handling her. Come on, you can hold her.” Sehun smiles and offers the bunny to Junmyeon.
He hesitates. ”It doesn't bite, does it?”
”No. I think.”
He lets Sehun place the bunny in his lap. She's very small and very fluffy, and calmer than Junmyeon expected. He pets her gently, her fur amazingly soft under his fingers.
”Hello,” he says to the bunny and Sehun snickers beside him. He leans into Junmyeon and carefully strokes the bunny's head with his finger.
”I already have a couple name suggestions,” Sehun chimes.
”Of course you do.”
”Mrs. Whiskers. Or Jumper. Or Judy Hopps.”
Junmyeon snorts. The bunny is taking little jumps on his lap and sniffing his shirt. He has to admit it is really cute. And if Sehun is really going to help him with it… They can be the bunny parents.
”You can choose the name,” he tells Sehun and the younger looks giddy.
”Happy birthday, hyung.”
He leans in and pecks Sehun's lips.
”Thank you, I guess.”
"You can thank me later. You and Judy are going to be best buddies."
