[Team Two] Artichokes

Sorry this is a day late /o\

"Learn the way of the peach harvest? I do not understand this phrasing, Reiji. Is there a philosophy associated with it the way there is with the tea ceremony, or calligraphy, or many of the martial arts?"

Reiji laughed. "I don't think it's anything that deep. It's just clever marketing for the orchard. This is the first time they've offered pick-your-own for anything other than apples. They're trying to spread the word about it, which is why we're working with them on an advertising campaign."

"We are working in pairs for a photoshoot and short commercial. Each pair has been assigned one fruit or vegetable the orchard has to offer, and the campaign we create should convince people to come while it is in season. You and I have peaches, Natsuki and Sho have plums, Camus and Tokiya cherries, Otoya, Ranmaru, and Ren oranges, and Cecil and Masato strawberries. But that does not explain their word choice. If their phrasing is unclear or misleading, will that not discourage people? That is counter to our goal."

"I suppose we could bring it up to the advertising team if you think it's that important. We're meeting with them again later this afternoon. The wardrobe people want to see us for another fitting in half an hour, but until then, we still have the informational video the orchard sent us to watch." Reiji turned on the TV in the green room and put the disc into the player. "Let's see if there's anything in here we can use for our footage."

The TV stuttered a few times before the disc started playing. The camera swept around in a large, panning shot as a narrator explained the history of the orchard. Then, the camera zoomed in on individual plants and the narrator talked about their growing seasons and the dishes that could be made from them.

"What are you writing?" Reiji asked as Ai frantically took notes.

"I did not know much of this before. I must try some of these recipes over time to see what effect using in season ingredients has on the final product--" he cut off mid-sentence. "Is that really edible?" he asked, pointing to the screen.

"What? An artichoke? Of course; they're delicious. You've never had one?"

"No. You are sure they are food? They do not look particularly edible to me."

"How about we go out to dinner when we're done? I know a good place in the station does a great artichoke."

"I would like that. I still do not understand how this object becomes food."
