[Team one] home cooking
Here's some angst-free angstshipping
(I must credit the "difficult to pronounce" joke came from Stargate SG-1)
"Hard to say really," Malik answers with a shrug, not giving a name to the food he just finished preparing. He starts scooping it in large portions onto his plate instead.
Ryou tilts his head in confusion as he waits his turn. "Some sort of secret family recipe?"
"No, just difficult to pronounce," he grins.
Ryou laughs. He gives himself a generous helping of Malik's cooking too and settles down at his kitchen table. It had been an odd sight earlier, watching Malik hustle around his space to prepare a meal for them both. He rarely saw that level of concentration on his friend's face. Not unless he had a motorcycle needing repairs in front of him. His eyebrows had knit together as he measured out ingredients, although occasionally he would just shrug to himself and dump some stuff into the pot without proper measurements.
Malik always seems like a mix of recklessness and surprising amounts of thoughtfulness.
The smell of familiar and unfamiliar spices hangs heavy in the air. Ryou almost feels like he's traveled somewhere else to eat instead of staying in the comfort of his own home.
"Do you like it?" Malik asks, eagerly, speaking through a mouth full of food like a child.
Ryou nods. "It's really good. You'll have to give me the recipe."
Malik pauses for a moment, and then smirks. "Or maybe I'll just come back again and cook for you."
