[Team One] Nostalgic Play
TItle: Nostalgic Play
Fandom: SunoSuto
Pair: none
Rating: PG
Summary: Jesse has learned that Raul has never played Jimusho Onigoku, and that must be corrected.
A/N: I'm late and I didn't want to push it much more, so this is shorter than planned lol. But it's still cute I guess?
“Hands up everyone!” 9 heads swiveled to the door to see Jesse standing in the threshold of their dressing room, the rest of SixTONES behind him. They looked to be range between excited and exasperatedly going along. So overall, they looked how SixTONES always looked.
“Jesse!” Raul squealed cutely as the tallest of Snowman wandered over to the tallest member of SixTONES like an excited puppy. The half Venezuelan-man had grown rather attached to Jesse ever since their month of Shounentachi together.
Jesse grinned at him, absolutely loving the attention. “We heard something recently, and we must correct the injustice.” Jesse gave an almost accusing look towards the rest of Snow Man.
Until that point, the group had been looking at SixTONES with tolerant amusement, but at the mentions that they’d done something wrong the group held a silent conversation between them to figure out what. Meguro and Mukai had yet to master it completely, but they still knew enough to say that they themselves had no idea what the half-American male was talking about.
Hokuto’s exasperated sigh and Shintaro’s clear excitement didn’t help them any in figuring out what it was. After a beat of silent communication, Iwamoto deemed that none of them had any idea what Jesse was talking about and decided that the only thing to do was to ask.
“What are you talking about?” He looked warily at Jesse, more than a little aware that a pumped-up Jesse with some exasperated members did usually mean trouble.
“You’ve done a great disservice to your sweet, adorable, child!” Jesse lamented; his face contorted to mock pity. He patted Raul on the head, but then he scowled slightly. “And, can you make him stop growing?”
At the mention of Raul’s ever-increasing height, the majority of Snow Man themselves seemed to stare at Raul with accusatory glares, like Raul could control how tall he was going to be. Fukazawa sighed, realizing that Jesse was trying to build something up.
“What have we done? And, how do we fix it?” Fukazawa was more than a little goofy himself, so he was glad to go along with a little more chaos.
“Well, a little birdy told me that Raul has never played Jimusho onigoku! Not ever! That atrocity of sin simply must not remain.” The way Jesse spoke, you’d think he was speaking about someone who was severely oppressed, and not a kid who has never played a game in the Jimusho before.
Upon realizing that it wasn’t anything serious, the older member of Snow Man physically relaxed. Watanabe let out a little groan, he knew what was coming. “Oh, come on, we finally have a few hours of a break and you guys want us to run around the entire building?”
Juri, who had just been looking at Jesse in open amusement, turned his eyes onto one of his best friends. “What are you talking about, you’re always one of the most excited when we play Jimusho onigoku! You got old, man.”
At the mention of his age, Watanabe glared. “I am not, and I’ll show you.”
The remaining 8 of Snow Man all silently chuckled to themselves, Watanabe wasn’t difficult for Juri to manipulate. Raul was looking around the 14 of them in silent curiosity, “What’s Jimusho Onigoku?”
Iwamoto sighed, realizing that they were going to end up playing. “It’s been a few years since we’ve done it honestly. But, it’s a giant game of Onigoku we used to all play as juniors. We’d get a massive group of juniors together and sometimes break into teams. Then it’s basically typical onigoku but using the entire building.”
“There are some rules. Like no disturbing active juniors or debuted groups while they’re trying to work. And of course, stay out of the second corporate office wing.” Juri explained.
“There is generally a time limit of an hour. Since typically we never get more than that for goofing off. At times up, the people who aren’t found “win” and if everyone is found, Team Oni wins.” Fukazawa’s face showed how nostalgic the idea of playing was to him. “We used to play it all the time, but then we all got busier and so we all just stopped.”
Raul nodded and bounced back on his heels, excited. “So, are we gonna play?”
He knew the answer, but he wanted the official ok. Iwamoto startled as he realized that 14 pairs of eyes suddenly fell squarely on him. SixTONES were clearly there with the purpose of playing, so it was up to him to decide if Snow Man was in or not. He waited for a beat just so he could see a few more pleading looks. “Fine, we’re in. But who is going to be Team Oni? With only 15 of us probably shouldn’t be a large team?”
“Let’s play Janken for it? Raul, Meme, and Koji can hide since this is their first time as Snow Man.” Sakuma suggested. He was excited to play. He looked over at Taiga and flashed a peace sign. Taiga had looked like he was hiding his own excitement and amusement the entire time, but upon Sakuma’s actions, a real smile graced his features.
In the end it turned out to be Sakuma, Jesse, and Shintaro on Team Oni, while everyone else would hide. As much as some of the members of Snow Man tried to hide their excitement, as they stepped out in the hallway to run and find hiding places not even one didn’t look like they were having fun. Something about the nostalgic game felt like they were all teenagers again.
With a shout of “GO!” they all took off in different directions. Sakuma, Jesse, and Shintaro counting to 100 out loud with their fingers in their ears and eyes closed. The group of twelve ran and hid in various places. Such as utility closets, empty dressing rooms, clothing racks, and even behind the dance hall mirrors.
Sakuma, Jesse, and Shintaro all knew the building, and the best hiding places though. So one by one each member had been found. Raul had managed to last almost to the end. He had taken off running at top speed only to have Jesse finally catch up to him, with his equally long legs. They all gathered back in Snow Man’s dressing room, laughing and shoving at one another.
Iwamoto had to admit, it had been a fun game, and Raul was absolutely beaming. Suddenly he looked around the room and mentally counted. 14, they were missing one. Silently he named off all the members of SixTONES and found all of them were there. Then he did his own team. They were short one. He frowned, and then started to name them off. He had started to do it out loud, so the others all suddenly realized they were short one. Time had been up for a little while, and Team Oni was celebrating their victory.
“Wait, we missed one!?” Sakuma exclaimed, shocked.
“Shota’s not here,” Miyadate spoke up, he had known all along but didn’t want to ruin Team Oni’s momentary happiness, yet.
“We looked all over though, where could he be?” Juri asked, almost alarmed that one of them was legitimately missing.
Miyadate chuckled, “You didn’t look everywhere, and you guys must remember, this is Shota we are talking about.” He grinned as he wandered over to their coat closet and slid open the door. There on the floor with a pile of coats on top of him was Watanabe Shota, fast asleep.
