[Team Four] The Stars Led Me to You
This isn't much, but it was all I managed to squeak out this time around haha.
Jisung/Seungmin (Stray Kids), PG, 970w
“Better?”
Jisung hums, scooting closer until he’s practically on top of Seungmin’s chest. Seungmin grunts at the sudden movement combined with the extra weight and Jisung gasps.
“I’m not even that heavy!” Jisung proclaims, dangerously close to Seungmin’s ear. If Seungmin wasn’t so used to Jisung and how loud he can be sometimes, he can guarantee Jisung would be on the floor right now.
“No, but your chin is pointy,” Seungmin grumbles, trying to shuffle around to get in a more comfortable position. It doesn’t work, Jisung clinging tighter with a small growl.
Seungmin raises an eyebrow at the sound. It isn’t the first time Jisung has growled at him, but almost all of the other times had been in annoyance (back when Seungmin first moved into the house and they were still arguing nonstop) or in jest (usually when they’re in their wolf forms and are chasing each other around the backyard). Neither of those apply here.
Jisung doesn’t say anything after that, instead merely huffing and laying back down on Seungmin’s chest like nothing ever happened. Seungmin’s about to say something, maybe tease Jisung about how he’s still a baby pup who can’t even control his growls, but stops short when he sees a hint of pink coloring Jisung’s cheeks. No matter how long Seungmin looks, the color doesn’t fade. It definitely isn’t the angle either, Seungmin subtly tilting his head this way and that to make sure, but sure enough, the color staining Jisung’s cheeks remains.
That’s interesting.
Normally, Seungmin would take any and all chances to make fun of Jisung for something because it’s just how they are. Sure, they can be nice to each other, but they’ve had this push and pull dynamic for so long that it feels weird to break it. But Seungmin has a feeling that now wouldn’t be a good time to say anything. For one, Jisung is still pining over Minho and Seungmin can tell that’s a majority of the reason Jisung sought out his company today. And it’s because Jisung and Minho are still in that weird in-between where literally everyone except the two of them can see how gone for each other they are that brings Seungmin to the second point. He doesn’t want to overwhelm Jisung with more feelings when he’s still struggling to figure them out for someone he’s known longer than Seungmin. It wouldn’t be fair to Jisung if Seungmin threw himself into the mix before Jisung figures out whatever it is he has with Minho. Jisung’s prone to becoming easily overwhelmed at times and Seungmin would hate to be the reason that happens.
“Min?”
Seungmin blinks, turning his gaze down towards the boy in his arms. Despite the earlier teasing, Jisung is light as a feather. It doesn’t make sense given how much he eats on a daily basis (although he’s nowhere near Chan’s level yet), but Seungmin likes him the way he is. It’s so easy to wrap Jisung in a back hug or pull him down the hallway towards Seungmin’s bedroom for a nap because of how pliant, how tiny he is. Seungmin himself has a slender build, but he has nothing on Jisung and his tiny, tiny waist.
Seungmin suddenly remembers Jisung asked him a question, quickly croaking out a, “Yeah?” that has him cringing. Smooth, Seungmin, smooth.
The way Jisung looks up at him like he’s the only other person in the world isn’t new, but no matter how many times Jisung looks at him like this, Seungmin has never been able to stop his heart from skipping several beats. Jisung makes them all feel so incredibly special seemingly without even trying. Seungmin doesn’t understand it, how all Jisung has to do is smile at him or look at him and the entire world caves in until all he sees is Jisung, but Seungmin has long stopped trying to make sense of love. Love is love, and Seungmin’s heart beats for Jisung, for Hyunjin, for Jeongin, for all of them in a way that Seungmin instinctively understands. He doesn’t need a reason as to why, he just knows and that’s more than enough for him.
“Thank you,” Jisung mumbles, soft and sweet, unguarded in the way he snuggles closer and lets his eyes flutter close, knowing that Seungmin wouldn’t ever let anything happen to him.
Seungmin almost asks for what?, but holds himself back. Just another thing that Seungmin doesn’t know to ask to know. If this is what he can do for Jisung, if merely being here and being a literal shoulder to lean on is what Jisung needs, Seungmin will do it. It’s almost incredible how much their relationship has changed in the last year. Even in the last few months, Seungmin has felt something shift and change, the universe bending to their whim to let them be what they want and need to be with each other.
Even without looking, Seungmin can tell the moment Jisung falls asleep, the weight on his chest becoming slightly heavier now that Jisung is no longer actively keeping himself suspended.
Mate, Seungmin’s wolf whimpers as Seungmin stares down at Jisung’s cute, sleeping face.
“I know,” Seungmin whispers, mindful of the sleeping boy in his arms. Closing his eyes, Seungmin sighs and wonders just when he’ll find the courage to tell Jisung what he and his wolf already know.
There’s no use dwelling on it now, though. Fate, much like nature, has always been kind to Seungmin and he believes the right time will come when it needs to.
With that in mind, Seungmin picks up the book that had been abandoned once Jisung barged into his room demanding cuddles. Running a hand through Jisung’s hair, Seungmin settles down for a few quiet hours.
You're up,
damagea!
