[Team Two] Always by my side
Title: Always by my side
Fandom: Snow man
pairing: IwaSaku
rating: PG
Summary: Hikaru going on hiatus has him depressed and too far into his head. Sakuma helps him come out of it and focus himself on something more productive.
A/N: Short and nothing too substantial, but it's done!
“For now, I just want to be by your side, it’s all I can ask for.” When Iwamoto spoke those words, something broke inside of Sakuma’s heart. They had just got the news that Iwamoto’s scandal from 3 years ago had resurfaced and was causing trouble.
Sakuma knew that Iwamoto was beating himself up. Iwamoto hadn’t known anyone was underaged at that party and did not even know the place where the party was held. If he had known, he never would have gone. When Takizawa and their manager had come to their group and asked about the situation, Iwamoto took full responsibility. Sakuma couldn’t help but feel like the whole situation was unfair, they had only just debuted and were finally on their way to grasping the dreams they all swore they would get together. Iwamoto had decided that he would go on hiatus to prove how serious he took the accusations. Sakuma could clearly remember how shocked he had been when Iwamoto had announced it to them. They had all been shaken by it really.
Sakuma was determined to not let anyone, not even for one second, forget that Iwamoto Hikaru was one of them. That Snow Man was a 9-member unit. Iwamoto appreciated the efforts, though he did worry. “I know you are doing it because you care, but please be careful?” Iwamoto let his long fingers push away a stray lock of blonde hair. Sakuma leaned into the touch, turning his head to kiss the tips of Iwamoto’s fingers.
“I’ll be fine, we will be fine. I promise,” Sakuma had sounded so confident. He walked over to where Iwamoto was seated on the couch and sat down next to him. Iwamoto gave him a disbelieving look, eyes sad. Rather than try to convince him with words, Sakuma chooses to use his body instead. Iwamoto’s lips were warm against his own, and it only took a moment before the taller male responded in kind.
After a few minutes, Sakuma could feel Iwamoto relax against him. His mind no longer clouded with thoughts of destroying their dreams and his youthful ignorance. “Thanks,” Iwamoto said between kisses, knowing what Sakuma was doing.
“Hey, I get something out of this distraction method too you know.” He chuckled and pulled away with a grin. “So, what are you going to do to better yourself while the rest of us hold down the fort?”
Iwamoto considered his question for a moment, his worry and fear still weighed heavily on him, but he knew that Sakuma was right. He couldn’t simply wallow in self-loathing the entire time he was away. “How about I work on getting my personal trainer license? It’s something I want anyways.”
Sakuma’s face lit up at the suggestion. He would worry that Iwamoto would overdo it, but he was glad to see Iwamoto looking to try something productive. “Just try not to overdo it, you know you’re way too much of a workaholic.”
