[team one] A Bedtime Story from the Book of Prophecies
Kingdom Hearts, Master of Masters & Child Luxu, eventually this will be more comedic, 752 words
Laughing, they twirled once more under the trees, the lights and shadows dancing with them.
"Master, you're the greatest," young Luxu declared, resting his hands on the Master's hood.
"You're not too bad yourself, kiddo," the Master of Masters replied, reaching back his hand to give Luxu a hearty noogie. "Now let's get you to bed."
He carried Luxu on his shoulders all the way back to their little house in Daybreak Town, allowed Luxu to change into his pajama hood, and then tucked him into bed.
"Master, can you tell me a story?" Luxu asked, his tiny fists pulled up to his chin, bashful and hesitant to ask for a favor from the Master he respected so much.
His eyes lit up when the Master dramatically raised his hand to his chin—a sure sign he'd oblige.
"How about a story from the future this time?"
"From the future? You mean the Book of Prophecies!?" Luxu sat straight up in bed and beamed.
The Master of Masters smiled and rustled his little hood. "Yes, of course!" He opened up his copy of the Book of Prophecies and began:
Once upon a time, there lived two small boys on a small set of islands.
The older boy was named Riku, and he had a sharp mind, hair as silver as your pop-pop's, and eyes of a mysterious, green-ish color.
The younger boy was named Sora, and he was a boring fool of a brunette with blue eyes.
For some reason, Riku took a liking to him, and they had been the best of friends since before Sora could even remember.
One day, a mysterious knight named Terra visited the islands, beckoned by the light within Riku's heart. He bequeathed Riku special magical powers, but they would be locked away until he was old enough to use them.
Not long after that, a mysterious knight named Aqua visited the islands. She didn't think Sora could handle special magical powers, so she instead patted him on his head and made him promise he wouldn't screw up Riku too much. Or something like that.
Not long after that, a bunch of stars started to fall from the sky. Sora didn't know that the probability of a meteor hitting you during a meteor shower is very, very low, so he cried and cried, fearful of . Riku didn't know that you'd have no chance of hitting a meteor out of the sky if it did fall on you, so he promised to hit any meteors that headed toward Sora straight out of the sky.
They escaped the night unscathed, but defying all probability, the islands did not, and a little girl who'd fallen from the sky appeared the next day.
"My name is Kairi! I'm an alien!" the girl declared.
As you might expect, there were a lot of things going on with an alien girl who'd been blasted onto the islands, but... you're a bit too young for stories like that, yes you are, yes you are...
The Master placed the book on his lap and poked Luxu's cheeks. "Master!" Luxu whined. "Stop that nonsense and go on with the story!"
"Alright, alright..." the Master sighed. He opened the book and continued.
Sora forgot all about the stuff that had happened so far and spent the rest of his childhood chasing Riku. Riku continued his successful, happy childhood, conveniently unperturbed by Kairi being an alien from outer space. In fact, he and Sora dreamed of going to outer space themselves.
One day, Riku and Sora decided to build a raft to take them to other worlds. Kairi didn't want to leave, but she helped them anyway, because they were her friends and she was terrified of being abandoned.
Riku was also terrified of being abandoned by Sora. The next day, he overheard Kairi suggesting that she and Sora leave alone and fell into despair.
"Aww, is this one of those lame love triangles?"
"Kinda, I mean..." The Master of Masters glanced at clock, then at the next page, then slammed the book shut. "And, uh, it's getting pretty late, so I think I'll stop there. Long story, you know."
Luxu stared at the book. "Master, was that even from the Book of Prophecies? You sure do like to mess with me a lot."
"Heh, maybe I'll let you check for yourself someday when you're old enough to read." He patted Luxu gently on his pajama-robed head and blew out the oil lamp. "Good night, kiddo."
