Title: Take a deep breath and go
Fandom: Snow Man
Pairing: Iwamoto/Sakuma
Summary: During the KML video shooting, Hikaru needs a little help in getting used to the dogs. Sakuma is there to give a gentle nudge.
Rating: PG-PG-13? (It can be inferred that stuff will happen later that night?)
A/N: The doggos in the music video make me happy! I'm still pretty torn up about putting my irl dog down, so seeing cute doggos is nice. I'm running late so this is very short, but I'd like to think it's cute?
“So cute!” Sakuma exclaimed upon the dalmatian's entrance. The dog wagged its tag in excitement, eager to meet new people and get lots of attention. The majority of Snow Man cooed and clamored around excitedly as three different dogs were brought before them. The three dogs were a dalmatian, Australian Shepard, and a Flat-coated retriever. The staff watched in amusement as most of the boys lost interest in everything else around them and instead focused on the dogs in front of them. Iwamoto was one of the only ones that kept his distance. While he was good with some dogs, he still was not good with them as a whole. Sakuma looked up with a giggle after getting his ear licked by the dalmatian. He caught sight of Iwamoto looking a cross between jealous and freaked out. He too wanted to join in the fun, but he was too nervous around the rather large dogs to act on those feelings.
Reluctantly, Sakuma got up from his spot amid the dogs. Using the sleeve of his shirt he wiped away some of the slobber from his face. He walked over to Iwamoto and grinned. “Hikaru~” Iwamoto jumped; he hadn’t expected any of his groupmates to come back towards him for a while. The staff had all left them, clearly thinking they would get nowhere if they tried to talk to the members now. Sakuma smiled up at Iwamoto. Seeing so many cute dogs put Sakuma in an even better mood than usual. Iwamoto couldn’t help but smile back at their resident ball of sunshine.
“You know, you can go back and play with the dogs. I know it’s what you really want to do.” Iwamoto looked back at their groupmates. Meguro and Mukai were currently trying to see which one of them was the Flat-Coated retriever’s favorite. Fukazawa was smiling as he and Abe pet the Australian Shepard, who was quite pleased with the attention if the rapidly wiggling nub was anything to go by. Raul’s loud screams of glee echoed in the space while Miyadate and Watanabe very cautiously stroked the dogs within their reach.
Sakuma hummed in response and leaned his body into Iwamoto’s tall frame. “I know, but you’re over here alone, and you need to go say hello. I know you won’t do it alone, so here I am.” They both knew that it wouldn’t be so easy for Iwamoto to get over his fears. But he needed to at least be able to act like he was cool and together near the dogs. Quickly he wrapped his arms around Sakuma, pulling him away from their spot near the doors and instead into the hallway which housed the stairwell. Sakuma went willingly, though he cocked his head to one side in question.
Instead of talking Iwamoto leaned down and kissed Sakuma’s lips, backing the shorter male to the wall. Sakuma grinned into the kiss and wrapped his arms around Iwamoto’s shoulders. By the time they pulled apart they were both a tiny bit breathless, and maybe a bit too heated. But Iwamoto felt far more relaxed. “Better?” Sakuma’s voice was low and husky, which caused Iwamoto to nose at Sakuma’s ears.
“Yeah, and I wish we had time. Guess I’ll just need to take you home with me after today is done.” His low voice in Sakuma’s ear caused him to let out a tiny whine. Iwamoto grinned and kissed Sakuma one last time before pushing himself, albeit reluctantly, away from the shorter male.
He held out his hand for Sakuma to take, which he gladly took. Together they reentered the room and walked straight towards the dogs. They knew from what the director had said that Iwamoto was to be with the dalmatian. Sakuma took the lead as he pulled Iwamoto closer to the dog. With a gentle tug he brought Iwamoto down to the dogs’ level. Sakuma gave their joined hands a gentle squeeze. The rest of their group had moved the other two dogs away, still giving them lots of attention, while also carefully watching Iwamoto’s interaction. Iwamoto took a deep breath before he let his free hand curl into a gentle fist and held it out for the dog to sniff. The dog sniffed his hand happily and then promptly licked Iwamoto’s face. Iwamoto let out a small yelp and if it hadn’t been for Sakuma still holding his hand he may have run. The dog cocked its head at Iwamoto, much the same way Sakuma had done to him earlier. Iwamoto let out a shaky breath but slowly began to calm down. Once he appeared to be at least be near the dog without looking terrified, the rest of Snowman rejoined them. Raul squealed happily, already completely in love with their spotted friend.
“Think you’ll pull it off?” Fukazawa kneeled next to Iwamoto on the opposite side of Sakuma. Iwamoto and Sakuma looked at Fukazawa. A huge smile plastered itself onto Sakuma’s face as he got up and went to play with the dogs some more.
Left with Fukazawa by his side, Iwamoto turned to him with a cocky smirk. “You know I will.”
