[Team Three] Tea?

Hi! I'm a little late but I'm here! This is a short post-canon (and canon-divergent) Bleach ficlet starring two OCs with a Grimmjow and Ichigo cameo. Because this is what the muse decided I had to write *shrugs*

(Gen — 300 words)

“This is just a regular Tuesday,” the fukutaicho says, and shrugs, completely ignoring the snarling blue-haired Hollow that just crashed through a wall behind her. Chihiro really wants to protest—surely, surely it can’t be a regular occurrence? “Seriously, it’s nothing. Ichigo-taicho will take care of it. Tea?”

There’s. So much wrong with that sentence. Chihiro might be a newly graduated shinigami, but even she knows that having a Hollow with that much reiatsu tearing through the walls of the division should not be taken with such a blasé attitude. Plus, wasn’t that Kurosaki-sama? How can anybody call him so familiarly!

The woman snorts and actually goes to pour her tea. Chihiro has enough wits still with her to snap out of her thoughts and stop her. “Please, Amamiya-fukutaicho, let me do it.” She’s a junior. It’s her duty to serve her seniors.

Amamiya-fukutaicho waves a negligent hand and doesn’t let Chihiro grab the teapot. “Nonsense,” she says, and pours the tea into two cups. “You’ll learn soon, Tachibana-kun, that we don’t stand on ceremony in this division.” A blood-curdling howl interrupts her, but she doesn’t even flinch. Meanwhile, Chihiro is glad that she hadn’t yet grabbed the cup or she’d have embarrassed herself by soiling her clothes, so hard she jumped.

A crash follows, and another, then an enraged scream and something that sounds suspiciously like a cackle and loud swearing.

And yet, Amamiya-fukutaicho only smiles, eyes like little crescents on her face. Chihiro purses her lips and reaches for the cup, for the first time seriously wondering whether she should have listened to her elder brother. He’d heavily implied that joining the relatively newly created Fourteenth Division was not, in fact, a very good idea.

“My, they’re lively today,” Amamiya-fukutaicho says, and sips her tea, completely unbothered.

Chihiro is starting to think her brother was right.
