This is a continuation from the last fic I posted here! ^^

Chan/Felix (Stray Kids), PG, 1.4k

“Please?” he asks. “I promise you’ll do well.”

“How can you be so sure?” Chan asks. He still seems skeptical, but at least he doesn’t seem entirely opposed anymore.

Felix can’t help but smile. “Well there’s only one way to find out, right?”

Chan laughs under his breath and shakes his head. “You got me there. I guess I can’t back out now, huh?”

“Nope,” Felix responds cheekily.

Chan lets out a long, drawn-out sigh, but he’s smiling so Felix knows he’s not really all that bothered. He brings up their joined hands and leaves the softest of kisses to the back of Felix’s knuckles. Felix feels his face heat up at the gesture, only blushing further when Chan murmurs, “You’re so cute.”

Chan’s face is so close, all Felix would have to do in order to kiss him is just close his eyes and lean forward-

The timer on Felix’s phone going off causes both of them to startle. Chan’s ears are the color of the strawberries Felix cut up and mixed into the batter earlier, his eyes focusing on anything other than Felix.

Laughing to himself, Felix presses a chaste kiss to Chan’s cheek before untangling himself from Chan’s embrace. As much as Felix wouldn’t mind being in Chan’s arms for the rest of the day, he has a cake to attend to, one they both have to decorate.

Felix grabs the pink oven mitts Jisung got him for his birthday last year and slips them on before swiftly removing the cake from the oven and placing it onto the cooling rack. Felix is hit with the mouthwatering smell of vanilla and strawberry, his stomach rumbling at the thought of getting to taste it later.

“That looks perfect, Lix,” Chan compliments.

Felix beams at Chan. He wouldn’t say it’s perfect by any means since they still haven’t tried it yet, but the cake is a pretty golden brown on top with smatterings of red sprinkled throughout from the strawberries. The icing’s already done and ready in another bowl, so now all that’s really left is the modeling chocolate.

“Alright,” Felix announces once he’s taken the oven mitts off. “Time to decorate! I still need to make a few more bows and flowers, so we can do that now while the cake cools.”

Once Chan washes his hands, Felix neatly places the modeling chocolate in front of him. Chan looks down at it like a deer in headlights, causing Felix to laugh.

“It’s just chocolate, it isn’t going to bite,” Felix teases.

“I know that!” Chan exclaims. He looks down at the chocolate and wrings his hands. “I just don’t want to mess it up.”

Softening, Felix reaches out and places a comforting hand over Chan’s. His hands are too small to cover even one of Chan’s let alone two, but Chan relaxes at the touch all the same.

“It’s okay,” Felix promises. “Even if you mess it up, which you won’t, I’m sure it will still look pretty. Here, let me show you.”

Felix spends the next few minutes going through the steps with Chan, laughing every time Chan yelps when the chocolate breaks or doesn’t settle properly. It’s beyond cute how hard Chan is trying and Felix loves him all the more for indulging him.

It takes a few more tries for Chan to get it down, Felix patiently explaining and demonstrating what to do, but it’s all worth it when Chan absolutely beams as he holds up a tiny bow. It’s a little bigger on one side compared to the other, but it doesn’t have to be perfect, not when Chan’s smile overtakes his whole face.

“Look! I did it!” Chan says with bright laughter of his own. He’s cupping the bow in his hands like it’s something precious and delicate, a look of wonder on his face.

“See, I told you you could do it,” Felix responds with a smile. Affection blooms in Felix’s chest, the force of it so strong that Felix swears the feeling will never fade.

Felix has to physically hold onto the countertop for support when Chan turns his blinding smile towards him. Suddenly feeling as if he’s been struck by an arrow right in his heart, Felix closes the distance between them and cups Chan’s face in his hands. His cheeks are warm, a product of his wolf biology, but Felix doesn’t miss the soft hint of pink dusting Chan’s skin, either. Happiness looks so good on Chan. Felix hopes that Chan’s always smiling and vows to make sure there’s never any reason for Chan to lose his happiness.

“You did,” Chan says, no more than a whisper. He’s looking at Felix like Felix is the key to everything, like he’s something precious, like he’s in love.

Unable to hold himself back anymore, Felix stretches up on his tippy toes and kisses Chan. It’s just as magical as their first kiss, but where there were explosive fireworks then, there are gentle sparks now. Enough for Felix to still feel warmth all the way from his head to his toes, like a warm blanket in the winter. Chan’s lips are slightly chapped, probably from being outside for a while, but Felix doesn’t care and presses closer. He’s careful not to press too closely, though, not wanting to crush Chan’s chocolate bow.

When Felix’s eyes flutter open after they break apart, Chan’s already looking at him. There’s the most beautiful smile on his face, the one that Felix has come to recognize as home.

Chan dips down for a kiss this time. Felix melts into it, sighing happily when Chan presses one, two, three more kisses to his lips. Felix knows how lucky he is to be as happy as he is now, but Chan and the other boys never fail to remind him of that fact over and over again.

Felix pulls back to breathe, closing his eyes when Chan presses their foreheads together.

“I could kiss you forever.”

Felix shivers at Chan’s words.

“I would like that,” Felix says.

“Yeah?”

There’s a smile in Chan’s voice. Felix automatically smiles in response, giddiness bubbling up inside him. He’s so far gone that it isn’t even funny, but Felix is safe in the knowledge that Chan feels the exact same way. It isn’t like it’s something to be ashamed about, anyways. There’s so much love to go around in their house and Felix soaks it all up like all of the sunflowers Hyunjin’s gifted to him over the years.

“Yeah,” Felix confirms.

With one last kiss, Chan offers, “How about we finish this cake first and then I’ll kiss you all you want? Especially all over your pretty freckles.”

“Stop,” Felix whines, his cheeks heating up within seconds. Felix both hates and loves that Chan constantly compliments his freckles. They used to be such a sore spot for him, but now after how much all seven of them have showered Felix with compliment after compliment, he’s grown to love them just as much. That doesn’t mean he isn’t immune to it, though.

“So you don’t want my kisses?” Chan asks, sounding affronted.

“I didn’t say that,” Felix refutes quickly. Even though he knows Chan’s just joking, he would actually cry if Chan never kissed him again. He’s gotten too used to kissing Chan in the last month that the last thing he wants is to be deprived of such a luxury again.

Chan smiles. “Then we better finish this cake.”

With renewed energy, Felix immediately gets to work. Chan laughs, but Felix pays him no mind as he fills up a piping bag with icing.

“The cake isn’t going to decorate itself,” Felix says when Chan simply continues to stand there and presumably stare at Felix. Felix doesn’t let himself look and confirm because he knows that if he gets caught in Chan’s gaze again, he won’t be able to get out this time. And he wants his kisses far too much to risk it.

“Adorable,” Chan says. It’s barely loud enough for Felix to hear, probably not meant for Felix in the first place, but his cheeks still burn in response.

Together, they work on decorating the cake in comfortable silence only interrupted by the crinkling of the piping bag. Chan molds a few more bows and even makes a smiley face that he shows off with pride when Felix finishes icing the cake. Felix laughs, but praises Chan all the same for it.

And if Felix happens to put the smiley face right in the middle of the cake just to see the way Chan smiles at him, then that’s nobody’s business but his own.
