[Team Four] Laughter and Love Letters
Hello!
Sorry it took a while. It's actually not yet finished, but I decided to post already since I'm taking too long.
bluedreaming, your turn!
"Laughs?"
"Yeah, you know," Jungkook stops chewing midway and drops the junk food his holding on the table, licking his fingers clean of cheese residue for good measure. "Laughter."
Jungkook gets to demonstrate his laughter before he gets rudely cut off by Jimin.
"I know what laughter is," Jimin scoffs. "What I want to know is why did he laugh when he read my letter?" He bites his fingernails, a nervous habit he's always planned to stop.
"Maybe he found your love letter funny?" Jungkook nonchalantly broadcasts from across the room. He's in the kitchen already, head stuck in the cold temperature of it, as he looks for the carton of banana milk somewhere inside it.
From the living room, Jimin audibly wails. "How can it be funny? I professed my love for him through that letter!" He grabs the junk food Jungkook left on the table and stress eats his anger out.
"Maybe he finds it cheesy?" Jungkook suggests. He offers a can of soda to Jimin, who nods his appreciation to the younger one, before he flops down on the sofa with his best friend and roommate.
"What's so cheesy about a love letter?! It's a romantic gesture for fuck's sake!" Jimin exclaims.
Good thing Jungkook knows when to shut his mouth.
"I don't know what to do anymore…" Jimin pouts at his best friend. Jimin pouts on a regular basis. He pouts when he's hungry, when he's mad and especially when he's trying to manipulate somebody. But Jungkook knows this pout. This pout is legit sadness and frustration combined.
Jungkook throws the now empty carton of banana milk on the floor and taps on his chest as he looks at his best friend. Jimin knows that's his cue as he quickly cuddles with his best friend, making sure he curls himself like a cocoon in Jungkook's embrace.
"How am I going to face Taehyung tomorrow, Jungkookie?"
There goes that pout again.
"Don't worry about it, hyung," He pats Jimin's head as consolation. "If Taehyung hyung laughs at you, I'll break his nose."
"Yo, I heard a rumor," Hoseok nonchalantly says as he pulls his books from inside his locker. They're in the school corridor in between classes. Students of all ages linger in the hallway, but most are already rushing towards their next class.
"Huh?" Taehyung looks up from his phone where a photo of Jimin's love letter is shown, complete with all the hearts he doodled on it. "What rumor?"
Honestly speaking, he doesn't care about the rumor. All he cares about is seeing Jimin today so he can profess his love for him. Taehyung has prepared for it all night long! A confession worthy of Park Jimin's beauty! A-
"Jungkook's out to get you, bro," There's a finality in Hoseok's statement that unnerves Taehyung.
"Say what now?" Taehyung almost drops his phone in surprise.
Jeon Jungkook is out to get him? As in the notorious Jeon Jungkook whose reputation for being strong extends till the university in the next town? What. The. Fuck?
"Yeah, man," Hoseok says as he jams all his books inside his backpack. "Yoongi hyung said he saw Jungkook asking around for your whereabouts, something about you laughing at a letter?" He knits his brows in question which Taehyung responds with a gasp.
"Oh shit-" Taehyung slaps a hand on his mouth. "Is this about Jimin's love letter?"
"Uh-oh, that sounds trouble…" Hoseok playfully steps away from Taehyung, but Taehyung knows Hoseok doesn't joke when it comes to protecting himself from physical fights. "Tae, you do know that Jungkook is overprotective of Jimin, right?"
There's a silent "What the fuck did you do?" somewhere in there, but Taehyung is way too panicking to respond.
Hoseok sighs. "Look, whatever it is, I'm sure you guys can fix this in a civil manner. Like adults." Hoseok even supplies.
"Yeah," Taehyung says more to himself than to Hoseok. "Like adults."
"What am I gonna do, Kook?!" Jimin exclaims. "We got Biology together! We're even partners for that stupid lab experiment!" He's started to bite his nails. Oh. This is new level of stress-something.
"Relax, I got you," Jungkook pulls Jimin's fingers away from his mouth. "I'm with you in that class, remember?" They're already walking towards Room 401 along with a few other classmates Jungkook recognizes. Still no Taehyung in sight though.
"Yeah, but I'm sure you'd be busy ogling at Namjoon hyung once you spot him," Jimin disses his best friend. Jungkook's pretty sure if this was an anime, an arrow would have shot straight to his heart because of that statement.
"Hey!" Jungkook tries to reprimand his hyung, but he knows it's half true anyway. "That's not true…." He adds lamely.
Jimin giggles for the first time since last night.
"Aww my Jungkookie has the fattest crush on Namjoon hyung, doesn't he?"
