I thought I could some up with something while I was away from home but forgive me for being late again.

“After that, you’ll lose everything you’ve worked hard for,” Hokuto informs him. "You start at square one."

Taiga nods, an imperciptible motion of his head but determined nonetheless. “My win is living in the peace I’ve worked hard on, am working on. It’s in having friends who will give me a new perspective, instead of blindly siding with me whenever I feel like the world is out to get me.”

Hokuto stifles a snort. "Those are big words, you know Juri won't remember any of this."

He raises his gaze, staring straight into Hokuto’s eyes, and he continues, “It’s in knowing who truly loves me for who I am despite my flaws, but will gently and patiently see me work past these flaws and turn them into my strengths.”

"I will still have you," Taiga says, simple and plain and completely true. "And we will remember everything together, even if Juri won't be able to."

Hokuto laughs for real, if a little wet at the edges. He takes a deep, steadying breath. "Okay, then. Let's go back."
