[team three] jealousy
Recently watched Star in my Mind and wanted Sean/Maitee to happen so bad, so I wrote the start of a thing about them :) Didn't get too far before the deadline so it's short and unfinished, but hopefully I'll continue it eventually!
"You didn't hear it from me, but Maitee has apparently been chatting up some guy in his class." Kluen is leaning over the table to whisper conspiratorially to Typhoon. It took some time, after the whole love triangle mess with Daonuea, but they've finally settled into a comfortable friendship, and now Sean frequently finds himself in between the two's conversations.
He's only listening halfway to this one, busy staring at his phone while eating, but when Maitee's name comes up, he tunes back in. "He what?"
Kluen and Typhoon turn to look at him at the same time, and he almost chokes on his water. "I mean," he amends, "how is that working out for him? He's not exactly that good at flirting."
"That's just because you're always stopping him," says Typhoon. "It seems he can be charming when he's allowed to be."
Sean isn't going to admit to it, but he knows. He knows Maitee is charming, because people like him even when he's being silly and cheesy and flirting with everyone. He's nice, friendly, and adorable, and people like that. And, well, that's the problem.
Another thing Sean won't admit: he wants to keep Maitee to himself.
"I doubt it," he says. "He always goes overboard."
"Some people like that kind of personality," says Kluen.
Sean doesn’t meet their gazes. “Well, okay. I just don’t want him to be embarrassed when he gets rejected.”
Typhoon grins. “I don’t think he can feel embarrassment."
