[team sonic] sometimes family is a castle and a skull
Gen; The Skull - Jon Klassen; G; 94 words (3 sentence fiction)
…then she looked everyone, but no matter where she checked, she couldn’t find the skull anywhere, anywhere except…well, there was always the bottomless pit in the basement…
Otilla was just considering the merits of lowering down a lantern on a rope when she found herself rolling out of bed and onto the floor with a clunk.
“Are you alright?” the skull asked, white cheekbone barely visible over the edge of the bed, but Otilla didn’t even bother replying; she just crawled back onto the bed and tucked herself in next to her friend.
This was also written for the 3-sentence fic prompt for January: "losing an important item", and posted on Squidgeworld.
Last word(s): “Are you alright?” the skull asked, white cheekbone barely visible over the edge of the bed, but Otilla didn’t even bother replying; she just crawled back onto the bed and tucked herself in next to her friend.
