[Team four] up you go
Just a little snippet of Yusuke & Kuwabara on a mission (post-canon)
YYH, g-rated, probably a little less than 300 words
"I think there's another way in," Yusuke says.
Kuwabara doesn't like the way he's squinting upwards towards the top of the building. He doesn't like it at all.
"No," Kuwabara replies, preemptively, because he's known Yusuke long enough to know he isn't going to like whatever happens next.
"Yes," Yusuke grins in return. "We'll get in through the roof."
"No."
Yusuke ignores him as he stands up and stretches.
"What if there's no roof access door up there?" Kuwabara continues.
"Then we'll just punch and kick our way in through the ceiling."
"We could do that down here! On the ground!"
"Where's the fun in that?" Yusuke laughs, and rolls one of his shoulders. He bounces on his toes like a boxer warming up.
Kuwabara wonders whether it's too late to run back home and ask Kurama to take on this mission instead. But before he can protest any further, Yusuke grabs him without warning and tosses him up into the air.
"Urameshi, I'll kill youuuuu!" he exclaims as he goes flying.
The weightless feeling reminds Kuwabara way too much of a certain fight in the Dark Tournament involving yo-yos. And he starts to feel kind of motion sick, but at least he manages to land on his feet on the roof. (A bit wobbly, but no one has to know that.)
Yusuke arrives up there a moment later, and pats Kuwabara on the shoulder.
"Save all that aggression for the bad guys, yeah?" he teases.
Kuwabara sighs. He sorta misses the days when his fights were street brawls with petty thugs.
Life was simpler back then.
But also a lot more boring.
He cracks his knuckles and then summons his spirit sword.
"Alright, let's do this."
