Greetings, good citizens of Shiritori-land~ 'Tis your friendly mod Joji checking in to see how you're all doing~

First off, many thanks to xingphonic for stepping in to keep an eye out on Shiritori while I've been busy training to be an English as Foreign Language teacher~!

Anyway, since we changed hands of ownership in September/October, we haven't had any major team shake-ups...? We've had a few shuffles here and there, but I feel the energy is flagging a little~ :C

So~! In the interest of bringing up the energy levels (and the speed of each round), we're going to give people the chance to graciously slide into and out of the game if they so wish and re-sort the teams!

Just drop a note below if you're still in - and bring a friend too if you want! :D The team re-shuffles will not come into effect until the start of the next round.

I've only just gotten my Trinity qualification so I don't actually have a teaching job right now ^^);; But I'm looking to go back to Asia to teach English - I'll be closer to my family, and also because I want to move back in the long term u_u

What about yourself? Any advice for a newbie like me? :O

I'm teaching in public school in Japan right now. ^^; My biggest piece of advice based on my experience just in Japan is to seriously be prepared for anything... here, one huge problem is that the kids are tested on material that's just plain wrong, but they have to learn it wrong to get into high school/college because it's wrong on the tests, for example. I think to be a successful EFL teacher you sort of have to be flexible to the system of the school/district/town/region/country you're located in and try to make the best of what you have to work with and engage the kids in a way that works in that setting. But Japan literally has the worst English ability level in all of Asia (except North Korea, because they don't have data from North Korea...) so my view is probably pretty skewed. XD;

Ooh~ I saw on Dave's EFL Cafe that Hess in Taiwan is hiring and my dad is all "Go to Japan like you wanted to~" but really I only wanted to go to Japan to teach because of JET. But now that I have my TEFL qualifications, I think I'd rather work closer to home for the time being?? IDK u_u Will see........

Ahh, I see. I'm actually with JET right now, haha. So if you ever had any interest/questions about JET I'd be happy to answer them. XD But teaching in Taiwan seems really great too, and their English is probably way better. XDD Are you from Taiwan? Coincidentally, my dad was born and raised in Taiwan, and I'm half Chinese, but I was raised in America. XD Good luck!
